Behrouz Mehri

Born in Tehran – February 1971

I started photography in 1988, then I commenced the photography course at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Tehran University (1991-1997).

I embarked my career as a photojournalist with Iranian newspapers since 1996 and then started internationally working with the France Press Agency (AFP) since 1998 which has been continued till the present time.

I was the board member and Deputy Director of Iranian Photojournalists Association (IPA) in 2008-09.

My pictures have appeared worldwide through AFP in newspapers, websites and magazines as well as, Time, Newsweek, New York Times, Washington Post, Stern, Spiegel, Focus, View, Paris Match, l’Express, Le Figaro, Le Point and …

I have covered some of the important events of the Middle East and Asia as well as Afghanistan and Iraq conflicts.

I am based in Tehran, Iran.
