Modern Pakistanis - indoor

JULY 2011
This series of photographs shows wealthy and middle class Pakistanis in the privacy of their homes, behind the closed doors. Highly educated Pakistani professionals work in all sectors of the economy and contribute to society, but account for only a fraction of the population of 167 million in a country deeply troubled by poverty and Al-Qaeda-linked bomb attacks.
Scenes from Pakistan in the world media are mostly fulfilled by terrorist attacks, suicide bombers, poverty and domestic violence and there is less enthusiasm of showing the normal life of Pakistani families in their houses and not just makeshift homes and shelters. These portraits show the other side of life in Pakistan, a modern life.
